Information
Purpose: The aim of this study was to gain some insights into timing and amount of implant loading by clinical observation.
Materials and methods: Six clinical cases were evaluated by MPT(mobility, pressure, torque) test to determine when and how much load can be exerted to dental implants. Cases were selected arbitrarily and loading protocol was determined and evaluated only by MPTtest.
Results: Immediate and early loading was possible when there were appropriate loading conditions. Cover screws, healing abutments. Provisional prostheses, and final prostheses could be considered as loading devices. Surrounding bone strengthened by controlled implant loading.
Discussion: Sum of mechanical and biologic stability determine the loading time and amount which can be exerted to dental implants. So, by proper control of mechanical and biologic stability of dental implant, several loading protocols can be made for one implant case.
Conclusion: The time and amount of load exerted to dental implants could be controlled by loading technique to some extent, and the mobility of dental implant was reversible in some cases.
