Abstract
Establishment of appropriate relationship among bar and clip attachment, tissue surface of denture, and supporting tissue, is a key element in success of implant-retained and tissue-supported overdenture. However, this is difficult with the general technique fabricating implant bar overdenture after stage Ⅱ surgery. Inappropriate relationship results in the need of a number of adjustments and repairs. which are common problem in implant overdenture. This technique is to fabricate definitive complete denture before, and to relate with bar after stage Ⅱ surgery by combination technique (direct and indirect technique). This technique shortens the period of temporary denture and permits supporting tissue enough time to adapt to definitive denture. As a result, the total treatment time is decreased. And trial period of definitive denture before related with bar enables comfortable transition to final implant bar overdenture with minimal modifications. Especially, this technique can be considered as a predictable method in cases required many changes, such as vertical dimension increase etc.
