Abstract
The authors performed the retrospective clinical study of Osstem SS II implant systems which were placed at 5 clinical centers between January 2003 and December 2004 and got the following results. 1. We used Periotest to measure the implant stability. Primary stability was measured in 108 fixutures and showed the mean value of -1.35. Secondary stability was measured in 52 fixtures and showed the mean value of -3.26. 2. Crestal bone resorption was measured in 347 fixtures and showed the mean value of 0.34 mm. 3. The survival rate was 99% and success rate was 95.2%. The mean followup period was 31 months. 4. We evaluated the state of peri-implant soft tissue at final followup. The calculus, gingival inflammation, plaque index were measured in 357 fixtures. The mean calculus index was 0.13, mean inflammatory index 0.38, mean plaque index 0.69. The width of buccal attached gingiva was measured in 259 fixtures and showed the mean value of 2.4mm. We obtained the excellent clinical results of Osstem SS II implant system during the short and/or midterm observation period and confirmed the high survival and success rate were maintained.
