ITI implant and Branemark implant is one of the most popular implant system in the world and has its own characteristcs in fixture design, thread shape, surface treatment, abutment type, healing period and so on. ITI implant system was developed on the basis of the concept called “non-submerged” implant, while Branemark implant system has “submerged” concept. In this study, we compared the follow-up data about 16 patients treated with ITI implant (27 fixtures) and 14 patients treated with Branemark implant (41 fixture). At the recall check-up appointment, we made such records as gingival index, plaque index, keratinized mucosa width, periotest value, bleeding on probing, screw loosening and survey for patient satisfaction. In conclusion we can get the results as following. 1. There is no stastical significant differences in gingival index, plaque index, bleeding on probing between the two implant system.(p>0.05) 2. ITI implant has larger keratinized mucosa width at both side-buccal and lingual-(p<0.05), but the amount of change of keratinized mucosa width has no significant differences statically. 3. In case of periotest value, ITI implant showed lower result at the time of restoration delivery and 6 month after delivery. 4. ITI implant has smaller amount of vertical/horizontal bone loss.(p<0.05) 5. In case of screw loosening, ITI implant has no screw loosening while Branemark implant has just one case among 41 fixtures. 6. According to the result of survey about patient satisfaction, both of the two implant system has good result in the esthetic, pronounciation, comfort, masticatory aspects. But ITI implant has more lateral food impaction problem.
