Abstract
Methods for restoring the posterior portion of maxilla with simultaneous sinus lift, composite graft and placement of TPS cylinder type implants are presented. Sinus grafting is needed because of minimal remaining alveolar bone and supporting posterior maxillary portion. The composite graft material uses a combination of autogeneous bone from tuberosity, dimeneralized freeze dried allogenic bone and porous hydroxylapatite with saline. Since march, 1992, 7 sinuses grafted into the drilled hole with implantation of 9 cylinder implants for 6 patients and 3 sinuses grafts into the windows made by trephine drill with simultaneous placement of 6 TPS cylinder typed implants have been performed for 3 patients. None of the 19 restored implants have been lost. Temporization of prosthesis was done about 2-5 months before final prosthetic work on 4 patients. None of them show any severe complication and only one grafted into the drilled hole did not show sufficient new bone regeneration around the implant after 2 years.
