Abstract
The effect of implant pitch heights on removal torque value was studied. Ten New Zealand rabbits were used in this study. The implant, which were 8mm total in length, 4mm screw length, 3.75mm external diameter, 3.09 internal diameter, were machined with CAD-CAM machine as machined top shape for connection with removal torque measurement machine. Control group was 0.6mm pitch height and experimental group had 0.5mm pitch height. Total 40 implants were implanted in rabbit tibia using sequential drilling procedures. After 3 months healing, the removal torque measurements of the proximal implants were done. After measurements, the suture was done for good healing. After another 3 months healing, the removal torque tests were done both proximal and distal implants. The results were as followed : 1. The RT value of 0.6mm group (15.79Ncm) was not stastistically different of that of 0.5mm group (15.48Ncm) after 3 month healing. (P>0.05) 2. The RT value of 0.6mm group (20.48Ncm) was not stastistically different of that of 0.5mm group (20.2Ncm) after 3 month re-osseointegration. (P>0.05) 3. 1. The RT value of 0.6mm group (25.88Ncm) was not stastistically different of that of 0.5mm group (24.03Ncm) after 6 month healing. (P>0.05) 4. RT values of 6 month healing were higher than those of 3 month healing in both groups. (P<0.05)
